Get Outdoors Day number 2!

We are pleased to announce that we are hosting our second ‘Get Outdoors’ day on Saturday 13th November!

Following the success of our previous Get Outdoors event in May, we wanted to hold another, similar, event, again with a focus on promoting the benefits of being outdoors and exercise on our physical and mental health.

This time around we will be starting from the Car Park at School Woods, Farr (IV2 6XJ), meeting from 1.30pm to start walking at 2pm.  Walk lengths will be variable, from 2.5km up to 10km, and will be suitable for a range of abilities!  You are also welcome to bring bikes, as the route is suitable for cycling.

The day is free – any donations are, of course, are always welcome! Refreshments will also be available at the end of the event, and we will also have some items available to buy, so please bring some pennies with you.

If you would like to join us for this event, please download and complete our registration form. Once complete, please return to theneilmackenzietrust@dr.com. We will then be able to keep you up to date with any further information about the event.

Get Outdoors Day. 22nd May 2021

Come and join our “Get Outdoors” day for all the family – A selection of activities for all abilities in Daviot Wood, near Inverness.

As Covid restrictions are lifted, and summer is on the way, it is time to get outdoors in the company of others, in small groups, to take some gentle (or not so gentle) exercise and blow away the cobwebs of lockdown. It is well documented that being outdoors, pushing boundaries and learning new skills are all beneficial to physical and mental health. We have recently launched our new Health and Wellbeing Grant , and we are actively encouraging new people to get out and enjoy exercising outdoors.

We hope that other events throughout the country (possibly even the world!) will be taking place. These will be listed here in due course, and if you are willing and able to host an event please let us know

The main event will take place on Saturday May 22nd from 2pm, in Daviot Wood, near Inverness. Val Rose (Mobile – 077221 77779 or Email – v.rosefitness@gmail.com) will be working with us to lead walks in small groups for all abilities, and there will be opportunities for other activities for all ages such as running and cycling and even yoga.

The day is free – any donations are, of course, are always welcome! The event is designed to get people out of the house and exercising within their comfort zone, and beginning to mix, face to face with other people. It will be totally Covid compliant, so things may change, but all changes will be notified here, on Facebook and to all registered participants.
