The funding I received for the excel course has been life changing for me, before I started the course I had low confidence. I felt overwhelmed by personal issues in my life and this affected my self esteem too. Throughout the course this began to change for me. I had more confidence in myself, although I was still dealing with being overwhelmed with personal issues I had learned to find more ways to deal with tough situations and to persevere past them.  Going to Andorra opened my eyes on how large the Snowsports community is. It was my first time abroad and the experience truly did change a lot for me I not only got to explore further into snowsports but it was genuinely one of the greatest experiences I’ve had. Growing up for me I never got to experience much so to go from not experiencing much to going abroad for the first time was a big jump for me. The experience of feeling all the different types of snow textures on the mountains, the noticeable difference between a dry slope and a mountain just everything was amazing. Top it off, the scenery and weather was perfect. I had so many photos to come back home with and I love the cold weather so heading up to the mountains with that cool breeze was just great. The views of further off mountains paired with the sight of the sky was something I’ve never experienced aswell. Nothing could’ve beat the funny conversations and the views from the gondolas. 

Not only has this funding help support me with personal challenges I have faced, it also helped me find a career path that I am more than happy with pursuing. With the snowcamp apprenticeship I’m happy to say that I have found a genuine purpose for myself and what I’m doing. It’s helped me majorly and I appreciate the support I’ve received along the way.
